The MnSTA Conference on Science Education brings science educators together for professional development, collaboration and practical ideas they can bring back to their classrooms.
The 2026 conference theme, “Evaluating Science Learning: Where We’ve Been and Where We’re Going,” will explore modern assessment practices that move beyond traditional written tests. Sessions will examine how educators can use a balanced mix of formative and summative assessments to better understand and support student learning.
AgCentric Assistant Director Judy Barka and Agriculture Program Coordinator Tyler Grunewald will attend the conference to connect with science educators and share resources that use agriculture as a meaningful context for STEM learning. Agriculture provides students with opportunities to apply science through plant systems, soil and water, food production, robotics, automation and other real-world topics.
