On Farm Communications Training

Join us for an enriching opportunity to experience agriculture firsthand through the On-Farm Communications Training Program at the Central Lakes College Ag & Energy Center in Staples, Minnesota. This program equips NRCS and SWCD participants with hands-on technical knowledge and practical communication insights across modern agricultural practices. These sessions are covered through grant funding.

Beginner On-Farm Communications Training

This training serves as an introduction to modern agriculture, designed for those looking to build foundational knowledge and confidence working with producers. Formerly known as Agronomy 101 Training, this program is ideal for participants who are newer to agriculture or looking to strengthen their understanding of core farming practices.

  • Irrigation
  • Farm Economics
  • Livestock Management
  • Cover Crops
  • Conservation Practices
  • Crop Rotation & Planning
  • Fertility & Integrated Pest Management
  • Technology and Precision Agriculture
  • Other Collaborative Efforts

Training Dates:
May 13; July 15; and October 7

Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Build a strong foundation through hands-on, on-farm learning experiences.

Participants are strongly encouraged to attend all three sessions to get the full experience.

NEW: Advanced On-Farm Communications Training

Take your experience further with this advanced training series designed to build on the Ag 101 foundation with more in-depth learning, updated content, and exposure to the latest technology in agriculture.

Participants will dive deeper into advanced topics and real-world applications, including:

  • Prescription mapping and precision ag strategies
  • Crop insurance and risk management discussions
  • Advanced agronomic decision-making
  • Expanded conversations around current and emerging ag technology

This training is ideal for those who have completed the Ag 101 training or have a working knowledge of agriculture and are ready to take the next step.

Training Dates:
May 14; July 16; and October 8

Time: 9:00 AM โ€“ 3:00 PM

Participants are strongly encouraged to attend all three sessions to gain the most value from the series.

  • Location: Central Lakes College Ag & Energy Center, Staples, MN
  • Dress Accordingly: Some training activities take place outdoors. Please dress for the weather.
  • Lunch Provided: Lunch will be provided each day.
