National Teach Ag Day is coming
MN State Centers of Agricultural Excellence is looking forward to celebrating National Teach Ag Day. The ninth annual National Teach Ag Day celebration will take place on Thursday, September 19. National Teach Ag Day is designed to encourage others to teach school based agriculture and recognize the important role that agriculture teachers play in our schools and communities.
Agricultural education teaches students to apply core content knowledge beyond the walls of the classroom. Agriculture teachers play a key role in teaching life skills that students need in order to be college and career ready. With nearly 12,000 agriculture teachers in the United States, it is important that agricultural education and agriculture teachers be celebrated for the profound impact they have on their students, schools, and communities.
National Teach Ag Day is designed to encourage others to teach school-based agriculture and recognize the important role that agriculture teachers play in our schools and communities. Currently, there is a national shortage of agriculture teachers in the United States, and National Teach Ag Day is part of a campaign to raise awareness of the career.
National Teach Ag Day is a part of the National Teach Ag Campaign, an initiative of the National Council for Agricultural Education, led by the National Association of Agricultural Educators and sponsored by the CHS Foundation, Corteva Agriscience™ Agriculture Division of DowDuPont™, BASF, Herman & Bobbie Wilson, and Growth Energy, as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.
