DESCRIPTION:CLC Ag & Energy Center Field Day\nFriday\, August 28\, 2026 \n9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. \nCLC Ag & Energy Center\, Staples\, Minnesota \nFree and open to the public. No registration is required. \nExplore agricultural research\, technology\, and education during the 2026 CLC Ag & Energy Center Field Day. The event will feature field demonstrations\, equipment experiences\, research updates\, garden tours\, children’s activities\, vendors\, and opportunities to connect with agricultural professionals and community partners. \nMorning sessions will be offered twice\, allowing attendees to choose two different topics. The day will also include the Legacy Ag Trail ribbon cutting\, a free lunch program\, partner recognition\, and an ice cream social with live music in the Living Legacy Gardens. \nSchedule\n9:00 a.m.–Noon \n\nRegistration and refreshments\nAgricultural vendors inside the Main Shed\nTractor and Combine Ride-N-Drive with Midwest Machinery\n\n9:30–10:30 a.m. \nFirst session rotation \n10:45–11:45 a.m. \nSecond session rotation \n11:45 a.m. \nLegacy Ag Trail ribbon cutting \nNoon \nFree lunch program and recognition of project partners and supporters \nFollowing lunch until 3:00 p.m. \nIce cream social and live music in the Living Legacy Gardens \nField Day Sessions\nInnovative Interseeding: 60-Inch Row Corn with Cover Crops and Soil Moisture SensorsTaylor Thompson\, CLC Ag & Energy Center\, and Amy Robak\, Centra Sota Cooperative \nExplore how wider corn rows\, interseeded cover crops\, and soil moisture sensors can work together in the field. This session will highlight ongoing trials and their potential benefits for soil health\, water management\, crop performance\, and long-term sustainability. \nDrone ApplicationsCRK Aerial \nSee agricultural drone technology in action and learn how it can support today’s farming operations. \nField Research in Edible Bean Production and Partnerships in the PlotJuan Osorno\, North Dakota State University\, and Andy Hacker\, Bonanza Bean LLC \nLearn about current edible bean research and how partnerships between researchers and industry help move new varieties and production practices forward. \nPrecision Irrigation SystemsGrand Irrigation \nExplore irrigation technologies and management strategies designed to improve water-use efficiency and crop production. \nLiving Legacy Garden ToursTammy Rick \nTour the Living Legacy Gardens and learn more about the plants\, educational features\, and community partnerships behind the space. \nChildren’s Garden and ActivitiesJudy Barka \nOffered during the 10:45 a.m. session\, children and families can participate in hands-on activities in the Children’s Garden. \nNo registration is required.
