2021 Explore STEAgM Day Camp
Agriculture keeps the world fed, provides raw materials, and even fuels your car. Take time to explore how agriculture affects you from your backyard to the supermarket and every step in-between. Hosted in Partnership with the Minnesota Center of Agricultural Excellence this camp takes you on an exploration of Agriculture in Mankato, MN. Get your hands dirty as you explore the garden and discover what is growing or roll up your sleeves as you make your own butter. This hands-on experience takes you right into the exciting world of Agriculture.
WHO: Any Youth Entering the 6th – 9th Grade
WHEN: July TBD
WHERE: Minnesota State University, Mankato and South Central College
COST: $245 ($220 with Multi-camp Discount) includes program fee, t-shirt, string backpack, all materials, snacks, and lunches.

Train the Trainer
Riverland Science Technology Engineering Prep (R-STEP) Camp
The R-STEP Academy is a free program for teens and young adults between the ages of 16 and 22. During R-STEP, students have the opportunity to prepare for college by taking college-level Math, Writing, and Career/Life Exploration courses. Students will explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum, applied learning activities, STEM-based project learning, and field trips in the Academy. R-STEP Academy is designed for those students who are ready to handle the rigors of college-level coursework (non-developmental courses). College level math and English courses will be explored and all students who complete the camp will receive 8 college level credits.

Riverland STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Comes Alive Boot Camp
The STEM Comes Alive Boot Camp is a free week-long program for teens and local high school students entering 9-12th grades. During STEM Camp, students will have the opportunity to explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) by taking part in curriculum, applied learning activities, STEM-based project learning, and field trips. Students will have the opportunity to explore future careers, job opportunities, and educational pathways.
This one-week program will increase students’ knowledge and skills through:
- Highlighting important environmental and societal issues related to STEM
- Interaction with Riverland Community College faculty and staff
- Applied-learning activities with local STEM leaders
- Fun research-based methods and projects
- Guest speakers, field trips, and laboratory/outdoor activities
- Team-building, games, and a supportive atmosphere!
Ag in the Classroom Summer Teacher tours
Please consider attending yourself and share this information with the K-12 educators in your school district. The goal of the MAITC Summer Teacher Tours is to provide first-hand experience with agriculture and access to FREE ag-themed, standards-based resources. We would love to have you, and a few of your non-ag-teaching educator friends, join us for one or more tours this summer!
